Warriors Pacers Brawl?

The 2012-2013 Golden State Warriors getting into a brawl? Who would have thought that this bunch of players would have gotten into a fight or any physical activity at all. The Warriors have never been seen as bullies or big fighters and tonight they showed there wild side. Now the Pacers, on the other hand, are known for getting into big fights and brawls.

Back in 2004, the Pacers and Pistons met in a very heated game.There was only 45 seconds left and the teams started to fight a little bit. Ron Artest, aka Metta World Peace, was laying on the scorers table when a fan in the crowd threw a beer at him and that’s when everyone lost it. Ron and some of his teammates and also the Pistons players ran up into the stands and started fighting the FANS.

The fans were getting beaten up and it was just one of the worst moments in sports history. Glass beer bottles being thrown, Fans on the court fighting players and coaches, coaches over the loud speaker telling the fans to stop and many more terrible things happened that night back in 2004.

Now, tonights brawl was nowhere near as intense as that brawl but I don’t think we will ever see any teams escalate to this extent, but this fight was a sign of intense basketball and also how heated players can get coming down the stretch of the season.

Just because the Warriors are never seen as the tough guys or the bullies doesn’t mean they won’t fight back and defend themselves and I give the Warriors props for not letting themselves be bullied. A rough loss for my Warriors and a very weird game because of this mini brawl.

NCAA Basketball is getting INTENSE!!!

THE NUMBER ONE SEED UPSET AGAIN. With this year holding an abnormal amount of number 1 seeds and high seeds being upset throughout the season, this years march madness tournament could be the most entertaining ever. I have been watching college basketball with my dad and on my own since I was born and I haven’t seen this many upsets and changes in high seeds ever.

It has been a very intense and also very equal balanced year so far with everyone having a chance to win and move up in the ranks. There has been no clear number 1 this year and I still can’t seem to pick one. Indiana has been a top the polls multiple times, then being upset and falling out of the top 5 a couple of times now.

The Hoosiers started off the season as the #1 and now they have been upset yet again tonight by Minnesota. With tournament time coming up and we still don’t have a true “Number 1 seed” things can be very interesting. I think that a good amount of teams have a chance of making a run if they can get hot by tournament time.

With March approaching rather quickly, myself and all other basketball fans out there are getting excited for the month of March but this year has us a little more excited then usual. This year, in my eyes, is going to be way crazier than any other year and I can’t wait.

We will all see who comes out on top but as of right now it is all an absolute toss up. Any team can get hot and take over the tournament, we will just have to wait and see who does.

With the National Football League season ending just a couple weeks ago, the NFL is already back in action? Yes people that’s right, the NFL is back with the NFL combine. All the college athletes of all positions come here to work out for NFL coaches and scouts. These players do vertical jumps, 40 yard dashes and a lot more drills to impress the coaches in preparation for the 2013 NFL Draft .

The two players that had the most controversial headlines heading into the NFL combine are Tyrann Mathieu and Manti T’eo. Both of these players were both stars in college athletics leading there teams to unforgettable seasons. Tyrann Mathieu had a rough 2012 season.

In the off season after the 2011 campaign where Mathieu was a for sure star and hopeful Heisman candidate, he got caught using the ILLEGAL DRUG that is marijuana. He was suspended for all of the 2012 season and most people thought that there was no way he could bounce back.

He has been doing very well in the combine and is expected to be picked around the 3rd round of the draft. I really want to see Tyrann do good because he was one of my favorite college athletes in the year of 2011.

Now for Manti T’eo. He had a great 2012 season finishing in second place for the Heisman trophy. Then, the off season came along. All these allegations of him having a fake girlfriend and people pretending to be a girl and talking to him got really ridiculous in my eyes, and now it has been this big story for months now.

He needs to focus on football because everyone can tell this story and these headlines are getting to him. He had a bad 40 yard dash time and the coaches were not impressed. He can still be a great NFL player in my eyes he just needs to focus and this story, which seems like it will never go away, needs to just stop being talked about.

Baseball Season is Back!!!

Finally the wait for the baseball season to start is over! Both spring training places have started up games in both Florida and Arizona. The National League teams are in Arizona and American League are in Florida.

The World Champion San Francisco Giants, who have won two of the past three championships, are planning to repeat and they have all the pieces from last year to do so. Most of the free agents that could have left the Giants decided to come back and re-signed with the Giants to try and repeat.

Angel Pagan and Marco Scutaro, the two must needed players from last year, have signed multi-year deals with the Giants and they hope to keep the success of the team rolling. The best part of the Giants and also the most succesful part of the Giants is there pitching staff.

Matt Cain, Ryan Vogelsong, Madison Bumgarner, Tim Lincecum, and Barry Zito shut down everyone in the playoffs. They had the best pitching staff with Matt Cain and Madison Bumgarner leading the way and heading into this year they are the most talked about pitchers in the National League.

I am very excited for the Major League Baseball season to start and I can’t for the Giants to succeed this season yet again. They have a really good chance to win the National League West division even with the dodgers coming up with some big signings. I see the Giants winning a tight NL West race and hopefully making it to the World Series again.

Happy Birthday Michael Jordan!

Happy birthday to the great Michael Jordan! His 50th birthday was on February 17th, which happened to be during the NBA’s all star weekend. Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest basketball player to ever play the game and his birthday was celebrated in a very fancy and great fashion.

The event was huge with a ton of stars, celebrities, NBA and other athletes coming out to support the NBA legend. His birthday was also the unveiling of his newest Air Jordan shoe the XX8. A great day remembering the one and only Michael Jordan. Some of the stars that attended are Nas, Ludacris, Chris Paul, Wale, Bun B, Carmelo Anthony, Tinker Hatfield and many many more.

All week leading up to his birthday, ESPN and NBATV were showing all of these highlights of MJ and non stop talking about him. The celebration was massive for this superstar. This wild event was hosted at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts where all of the Jordan Brand athletes showed up.

The NBA all star weekend was said by most to be “overshadowed” by the big event that was Michael Jordan’s 50th. The birthday was celebrated for a good week and the all star weekend only last three days and even in those three days they kept talking about Michael Jordan and interviewing people about him. Ahmad Rashad interviewed MJ for 45 minutes about his whole career and life as an NBA player.

Short Sleeve NBA Jerseys?

The Golden State Warriors and Addidas are trying to start a new trend in the NBA. Last week, Adidas and the Warriors agreed to introduce the new short sleeve NBA fit jerseys that they will be wearing on Friday February 22nd against the San Antonio Spurs.

The jerseys have gotten mixed reviews. A lot of people think that they are very weird looking and that yellow being the main color makes the jersey way to bright.

I, on the other hand, think that this is a great move for the NBA and that these jerseys are really cool and modern. I am very excited for the warriors to break these out this Friday.

These modernized jerseys have not gotten the best feed back from other sources. One thing people seemed to argue about was the use of these to cover up tattoos. “Finally, a way to cover up annoying tattoos!” was said by on the website bleacher report.

I disagree with this because I am a big fan of tattoos but a lot of older people don’t enjoy seeing all these tatted up young athletes and also having there kids idolizing someone who is “inked up” isn’t the best role model.

The NBA could use these to cover tats and make kids forget about the tattoos on there favorite players arms. My final thought is that I, personally, am really excited for these to be introduced to the NBA and for them to be worn by my favorite team and hometown team.
