NBA: Playoffs-Golden State Warriors at Denver Nuggets

WARRIORS WIN A HUGE GAME IN DENVER WINNING GAME 2. Without David Lee and even with the nuggets getting one of there best players back in Kenneth Faried, the Warriors pull the upset and beat the Denver Nuggets 131-117. Stephen Curry had a great game scoring 30 points and adding 13 assists to that. People had to pick up the slack with David Lee and damn did these players play great.

Klay Thompson added 21 points, Jarrett Jack went for 26 points and rookie Harrison Barnes went for a career high of 24 points. The Warriors looked fine without there big man David Lee. The Warriors shot 64% from the field, which is the best in the playoffs since 1991. They also made 14 out of 25 from three point range which is second best in the history of the Golden State Warriors.

This was a very high scoring game and the Warriors were just on top of there game and shooting the lights out. Now the Warriors and the Nuggets head back to Oracle Arena in Oakland, California where the Warriors play there home games. Friday night is game 3 and then game 4 is on Sunday also in Oakland.

Now that the Warriors are headed home and also stole one game in Denver, all they have to do is win there games at home and take care of there own court. This was a very big game win for the Warriors, but I think it was an even bigger loss for the Nuggets because they had the home court advantage and let the Warriors come into Denver and steal a game. We will see what happens in the series. Go Warriors!

After all the terrible things that happened during the Boston Marathon, the Boston Red Sox and the city of Boston had a great tribute for the one’s who lost loved ones before there game on Saturday, April 20th. This is a video from someone in the crowd but it doesn’t have the whole thing I wanted to show you.

This a great video clip that I get goosebumps watching it is so touching. The Red Sox show pictures from the bombings and people running the marathon. Then they sing a great national anthem sang by everyone with chants of USA and other chants.

The first pitch is thrown out by people who helped the bomb victims and other very important people that helped with the cleaning and saving of the bombs. Then, one of the Red Sox best player, David Ortiz, who has been there for awhile and has been one of there best players for awhile and fan favorite comes out and says a short speech to all the people of Boston. Please watch this and see the recognition of the bomb victims. I’m hoping for the best for all people from Boston affected by the bombings.

My prayers go out to all of you. The other version of this with everything involved I can’t seem to find but it has all the things that I described in this article. Look it up and try and find it. It only has all the clips of the things I described not the whole thing. Enjoy.

NBA-Playoffs

This years playoffs has a lot of story lines that all you NBA fans out there need to pay attention to. All the match-ups in the first round are going to be good series for the most part. The one series that I think is going to be a blow out is the Miami Heat and the Milwaukee Bucks, but a lot of other people can predict that too.

All other series are up for grabs in my eyes and a lot of upsets can occur. The teams playing from the Western Conference are the Oklahoma City Thunder versus the Houston Rockets, the San Antonio Spurs versus the Los Angeles Lakers, the Golden State Warriors versus the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Clippers versus the Memphis Grizzlies.

The teams playing from the Eastern Conference are the already mentioned Heat versus Bucks series along with the New York Knicks versus the Boston Celtics, the Indiana Pacers versus the Atlanta Hawks and the Brooklyn Nets versus the Chicago Bulls.

Another big storyline for the playoffs is all of the injuries. Derrick Rose, Kobe Bryant, Rajon Rando, and David Lee are some major names with big injuries that will not be seen in these playoffs at all. David Lee’s injury occured in game one of the playoffs but all the other players have been out since before the playoffs even started all with torn ACL’s. Lee’s injury is a torn right hip flexor.

I can’t wait to see what happens in this years playoffs and to see who comes out on top.

One of the Golden State Warriors best players is out for the rest of the 2013 playoffs because of a torn right hip flexor. David Lee has never been in the playoffs before this season where the Warriors made the playoffs for the first time since 2007 and just the second time since 1993.

This is a very sad ending to such a great season for David Lee and the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors and Nuggets are still in the beginning of there series with game two taking place tonight in Denver with the Warriors dropping the first game by just two points on Saturday.

The Warriors still have a chance of winning the series and moving on to the next round of the playoffs, but without David Lee it is going to be a very difficult task. I, being the Warriors fan that I am, hope for the best for David Lee and want to see him have a nice recovery and come back next year better than ever.

For the team as of right now, we need a lot of people to step up and fill the void left by Lee. Carl Landry will take over as the starter and he is a fine player who can play very well at times he just needs to focus and play big.

Curry and Thompson need to do what they do with Barnes pitching in here and there. I have hope in my team and I really would like to see them pull this upset and move on.

The San Franciso Giants are continuing there winning ways and having a great start to this season. Leading the National League West division with a 9-4 record, the Giants are starting the year off right. Everything for the Giants is clicking and they look like they are the same team that won the world series just a year ago. We hope, as Giants fans, that we can continue the late success and build upon a repeat World Series Champions season.

The Giants have been very successful the last couple of years winning the championship in 2010 and last season. Continue watching the Giants as I will be watching every game and hopefully attending some of the games at AT&T Park in San Francisco. These Giants are here to win and we have all the pieces to do so.

The roster from this year and the roster from last year are pretty much identical. The pitching staff is one of the best if not the best staff in all of baseball. We have a good group of hitters with Buster Posey, last years National League MVP, and Pablo Sandoval, last years World Series MVP, heading the lineup of solid hitters. The Giants are a very fun team to watch when they are playing well and that’s exactly what we are doing right now.

There is a long season ahead of us, but still a good start is key especially with the National League West getting better and better each year. The Dodgers and Diamondbacks are going to bring some competition this year and it’s going to be close in the end. Let’s just hope the Giants have a great season and make the playoffs again and even another World Series would be great.

The Louisville Cardinals win the NCAA Championship over the Michigan Wolverines 82-76! An amazing collegiate basketball game played by two great teams. This game has been said by multiple reporters and sources have said this was one of the best championship games they have seen and the best in a very long time.

With all the controversy of the Kevin Ware story and all the dram this team has gone through as the number one overall seed in a field of 68, they continued to fight and made it all the way to the championship only to succeed in the end. With AP Player of the Year in Trey Burke on the Wolverines, the Louisville Cardinals had there hands full. Both teams have a bunch of NBA ready prospects and amazing athletes that made this game so entertaining and fun to watch.

I was on the edge of my chair the whole game watching all the highlight reel plays and the rough game of basketball that was played between both teams. A great basketball game and a great game that will definitely help out the ratings and add more fans to watch college basketball.

Being a college basketball fan myself, this is all we could have asked for in a championship game against two big schools that have been solid all season. My favorite player this season has been Trey Burke who was apart of the losing team but he played well in this unbelievably good game. I am just very happy to have watched this game and can’t wait till next season.

One of the worst and sad moments of sports all time happened last weekend and everyone was in complete shock. Louisville’s sophomore guard Kevin Ware had the gnarliest injury of sports all time in my eyes. His recovery is going well but he is a long way from coming back to play.

When he fell and was down on the floor, the whole gym and all the players were in absolute shock. Players started to fall to the ground and tear up. The coach of Louisville was even crying and he threw up from the sight of the injury after the game.

The picture is unbelievably sickening and made me and probably every one else who saw it live, which was millions of people, sick. His bone was sick inches out of his leg and it was a terrible picture. We hope and pray that Kevin Ware gets better but he looks like he will be good in a year or so.

This picture is one of my favorite pictures from the tournament. The team won the game despite the loss of Ware and this is them celebrating while holding up his jersey.

One of the starters at the end of the game while he was on the bench because they were up by so much, even put on Ware’s jersey for a little bit. A very touching moment showing how much they care about there teammate and how big this injury really was.

The former number 1 overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers has officially been traded to the Kansas City Chiefs for a second round draft pick in this years draft and an additional draft pick in the 2014 draft.

Alex Smith was looking like the 49ers star quarterback last year, leading the 49ers to a 13-3 regular season record and to the NFC Championship game where they lost a close game to the Super Bowl Champions of that year the New York Giants. Alex’s first couple years in the league were rough for him with injuries, being benched a couple times and all the fans booing him and not liking him one bit.

He turned the franchise around last year and brought the winning ways back to San Francisco. He was looking like the number 1 overall pick after all. This year in Week 9, Alex went out with a concussion and young phenom Colin Kaepernick stepped in to replace him. Kaepernick went on to lead the 49ers to the Super Bowl where they lost while Alex was on the sidelines watching.

2005---Alex-Smith-Draft-Day

Some say it was unfair to Alex to just be replaced like that but Colin Kaepernick has way more potential and has a lot more athleticism. So everyone knew that Alex needed to move on because he was a better quarterback then a good amount of starters in the league and he was a backup. The chiefs had a very rough 2012 campaign winning just two games and having a lot of problems at quarterback.

For a 49er fan it is hard to see Alex go but we also know that Kaepernick is the future and on his way if not already an elite quarterback in this league. Hopefully Alex succeeds with the Chiefs because the chiefs need a quarterback and Alex is a solid one at that. We will see what happens in the 2013 NFL season.

The 2012-2013 Golden State Warriors getting into a brawl? Who would have thought that this bunch of players would have gotten into a fight or any physical activity at all. The Warriors have never been seen as bullies or big fighters and tonight they showed there wild side. Now the Pacers, on the other hand, are known for getting into big fights and brawls.

Back in 2004, the Pacers and Pistons met in a very heated game. There was only 45 seconds left and the teams started to fight a little bit. Ron Artest, aka Metta World Peace, was laying on the scorers table when a fan in the crowd threw a beer at him and that’s when everyone lost it. Ron and some of his teammates and also the Pistons players ran up into the stands and started fighting the FANS.

The fans were getting beaten up and it was just one of the worst moments in sports history. Glass beer bottles being thrown, Fans on the court fighting players and coaches, coaches over the loud speaker telling the fans to stop and many more terrible things happened that night back in 2004.

Now, tonights brawl was nowhere near as intense as that brawl but I don’t think we will ever see any teams escalate to this extent, but this fight was a sign of intense basketball and also how heated players can get coming down the stretch of the season.

Just because the Warriors are never seen as the tough guys or the bullies doesn’t mean they won’t fight back and defend themselves and I give the Warriors props for not letting themselves be bullied. A rough loss for my Warriors and a very weird game because of this mini brawl.

THE NUMBER ONE SEED UPSET AGAIN. With this year holding an abnormal amount of number 1 seeds and high seeds being upset throughout the season, this years march madness tournament could be the most entertaining ever. I have been watching college basketball with my dad and on my own since I was born and I haven’t seen this many upsets and changes in high seeds ever.

It has been a very intense and also very equal balanced year so far with everyone having a chance to win and move up in the ranks. There has been no clear number 1 this year and I still can’t seem to pick one. Indiana has been a top the polls multiple times, then being upset and falling out of the top 5 a couple of times now.

The Hoosiers started off the season as the #1 and now they have been upset yet again tonight by Minnesota. With tournament time coming up and we still don’t have a true “Number 1 seed” things can be very interesting. I think that a good amount of teams have a chance of making a run if they can get hot by tournament time.

With March approaching rather quickly, myself and all other basketball fans out there are getting excited for the month of March but this year has us a little more excited then usual. This year, in my eyes, is going to be way crazier than any other year and I can’t wait.

We will all see who comes out on top but as of right now it is all an absolute toss up. Any team can get hot and take over the tournament, we will just have to wait and see who does.
